 I think we'll have a good sale. We have the best group of horses we've ever had for a March sale, especially at the top end. The top, though, usually takes care of itself, so this, as usual, will be a good test of the middle market. But we've had a lot of activity [on the sales grounds] and according to all the indicators, credit requests, hotel requests, we've got all the right signs.

 The big question is how polarized will the market be? Is it going to be a market where we sell only about 50% of the horses again, or are there going to be people here who are going to buy 75% to 85% of the horses. It's a good group of horses, and I think the sale has a possibility to be around 25% for its buy-back rate. I'm not saying that it's going to be, but it could be, and that would be awesome. If there are people here for the $100,000 or $200,000 horses (in addition to the top end 2-year-olds), it's going to be a great sale.

 Last year was the largest sale we've ever had in March. This year I think the quality at the top is better. We have a significant group of horses at the top end of this sale. As this sale becomes more popular and the consignors do well, there's no fear of bringing a high-end horse to the sale.

 The new format of our yearling sale was the first major change introduced this year to SCs sales, ... Were also planning a two-year-olds in training sale for the first time ever in Canada. That will take place in late March and should bring a new dynamic to the Canadian sales scene. Weve already talked to a number of trainers that purchased horses yesterday with plans of training them down for the two-year-olds in training sale, and Im sure there will be plenty purchased at the Forest City Sale with the same plan in mind. Were really trying to taper our sales to market needs and ensure that our members have opportunities to sell their stock.

 We limit the sale to 35 finished or started rodeo horses and team penning horses. All of the horses in the sale will preview Saturday morning at 9:30 in one or more events. The sale will begin an hour later. Neither the horses nor the buyers ever leave the arena.

 It's great we have passed last year's gross on the third day of the sale. It shows that the market continues to grow. The median is phenomenal. This sale is just a continuation of November. People came here to buy and sell horses.

 I think we’re doing good; it’s a good, solid sale, ... There are a lot of good horses, so if you have less than average of what the stallion is throwing, it’s a tough market for those people, but if you have average or above, it’s a strong market.

 We have had some people resign from the Help Desk, which has slowed the processing of the computer sale for this month. We have decided to go ahead with the March 20 sale.

 Two years ago we spent a million dollars for an artificial surfaced track and expanded stadium. We've had requests for another full-time trainer, a district-owned swimming facility, a dance sport, an equestrian team, an ice hockey team and gymnastics. The requests never end because there is never a lack of worthy projects suggested for the benefit of one group of people to be financed by a different group.

 I think it's really good. When you only have one, then all the buyers seem to go to that one horse. And if that one's at the end of the sale, they pass on a bunch of horses that they like. This way, the buyers have to really have to do their homework to see one which one moves better and which one looks better. They look at the horses in every barn, all the way around.

 Certainly a lot of succession transactions occur at market value. Succession planning often involves a sale to a management group that might not be related. Sometimes it involves the outright sale of the company. An employee stock ownership plan is also an option.

 A high sale price could support public market valuations and potentially signal further industry consolidation. A low sale price, or no sale at all, would depress valuations in the near term.

 We feel that the blockbuster sale of RMA to NCO Group is an indication of transactions to come as private equity looks toward a sale as a way to profit from investments made a number of years ago.

 It was obviously a phenomenal horse sale. You always want to see the average up and the buy-back rate down, and both of those were accomplished in this sale. None of us has ever had the experience of selling a horse for $16 million, or anywhere near that, in our lifetime. That was fantastic; that was wonderful; and that was extraordinary. But even without that, it was still a great horse sale. That was kind of the icing on the cake. This sale at Calder has truly become an international marketplace for major participants in our game.

 We have not had any new orders to fill property requests. But I do anticipate some. We already have some property in that area on Highway 219 -- we were speculating with no idea this was coming. My suspicion is this will be good for us, good for housing sales and residential development.
