 This has been a most difficult decision I have ever had to make in my entire life. But after consultation with my doctor and my family, I have decided not to rejoin the football team. I will focus on regaining my health and my academic pursuit of getting an MBA.

 As long as he complies with our athletic department rules and regulations and meets all of my expectations, then he'll be allowed to rejoin the team. He has a tremendous amount of work to be done in order to rejoin the team on a full-time basis.

 It was difficult for him because he knows what he's capable of and it was difficult not to be able to show what he could do. He's such a competitor, a great leader and a great kid. He just wasn't at full strength and he wasn't at 100 percent with his conditioning. We just decided to focus on his health -- I mean, he's a tremendous athlete who could pretty much just pick a sport and say that's the one he wants to play at college -- rather than trying to get one or two more wins from him.
