 My whole philosophy when I got this started was to create an arm for urban movies. And you now, it took me a little longer to get that finished, but now we have it.

 I don't think people should be alarmed that they're talking about this. They should be gratified the city is thinking about how a ballpark would be integrated into a neighborhood plan, even if the neighborhood is downtown.  They are not only illegal — they are disrespectful to the community. We believe in removing urban blight and now we have a major corporation come in and just throw up ads without approval.

 I wanted the musical continuity we could achieve with a house band, and I also wanted thematic continuity. I didn't want songs about flooding; I didn't want songs about rain. I wanted to celebrate the musicality and the spirituality of the old neighborhood because I didn't know if there would even be an old neighborhood to return to. So I wanted the spirit of the neighborhood bar.

 Our goal was to create a more intimate ballpark atmosphere in a cavernous ballpark setting. There's times you could get crowds of 20,000 in the park, and in our stadium it looks like 12,000 the way they were spread out.

 You have your local city government and your community redevelopment agencies who will tell you that they want to take private property because they want to do away with blight, they want to upgrade the neighborhood, ... I don't buy that.

 Its not just the visual blight of seeing those poles when you come into the neighborhood off of Price, but for a lot of these neighbors it's the unknown of what the real health hazards are. Many of us have children.

 What Lincoln wants to do is to create a mixed-use urban center. One of the questions the plan commission needs to consider is how many and how big and where should urban centers be the most appropriately located.

 A neighborhood barbecue is essentially what we've put together. We wanted it to be a neighborhood thing since the accident happened in the neighborhood.

 I practiced on a small board before I tackled the real thing. I cut a piece of poster I wouldn't use and put that on a board to see how the poster would react to glue and water… I also started with the small cabinets that were not the focal point of the kitchen, so if I made a mistake, those would not be the ones people see first.

 As we continue our efforts to secure a new ballpark in Oakland, we will take every measure to make the Coliseum a comfortable and fan-friendly facility. Our goal is to create a more intimate ballpark atmosphere and bring our seating capacity in line to what we have proposed for our new venue.
