During the '70s and proverb

During the '70s and early '80s there were places for people with views like mine in the Republican party. Today, my views are not welcome at the Republican table.

A lot of people out here are Republican. They contribute significantly to the Republican Party. Since Mitch Daniels and the Republican Party are going to be out here today, it's a good way to communicate our message.

The Republican Party is a big tent and you have many different views and not everyone shares the same view.

He (Gore) attacked Governor Bush as being unworthy of being president for having some of the same views that he now compliments his running mate for having. I guess it's risky if you are a Republican to have those views, but it's courageous if you are Joe Lieberman,
  Karl Rove

The possibility exists that people can take over the leadership of this Republican Party who do hold these values. It's not a closed door. And the Republican Party, yet today, still represents the best alternative, in my judgment, to the presidency of Bill Clinton, ... Meet The Press.
  Pat Buchanan

Rob Schilling has been successful in part because he doesn't approach people saying that he is a Republican who advocates every single facet of the Republican Party agenda without fail. He presents himself as a Republican who is also a single member of a five-member city council who can bring to the table certain ideas that maybe aren't represented elsewhere on the council.

I thought his choice of comparisons was unfortunate and the premise that the right of privacy does not exist -- just plain wrong, ... Senator Santorum's views are not held by this Republican and many others in our party.

The Republican Party has never been this narrow, litmus-test type party. We can disagree on an issue like choice or stem cell research and not be an enemy or a bad person. We need to get away from this approach that we see more and more today, that you can't be a good Republican if you don't believe certain things in a certain way.

There are a lot of people all basically agreeing on these issues ---- the big difference is not just believing in the Republican Party, but what have you done to execute the policies of the Republican Party.

Some people change their views over the course of time. For others, one could draw a straight line from where they were decades ago to where they are today. Nothing in the available record allows us to conclude that John Robert's views have changed. Indeed, given how deeply held those views have been, a change of mind would be remarkable.

The president realizes that the views of the extreme right wing of his party are not the views of the American people, ... And for the second time in a row, he's sent us a nominee who we really don't know that much about.

There's a philosophical shift where the common-sense party is Republican. Where your granddaddy was a Democrat, in today's terms he's a Republican. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. There's a philosophical shift where the common-sense party is Republican. Where your granddaddy was a Democrat, in today's terms he's a Republican.

Alan Greenspan has probably been a key player in more Republican presidential campaigns and Republican party platforms and Republican administrations than any other economist in the country. He's a wonderful politician.

The president has not sent us a nominee who has already hewed to the extreme wing of his party, ... that the views of the extreme right wing of his party aren't the views of the American people, or even close to it.

Republican guests and views have dominated our Sunday mornings.
