 I liked the process. It wasn't all that strenuous. I wanted more coaches to come down. I wanted to talk to more coaches from more schools.

 I don't want to say it's a sense of relief. We wanted to go out with a win for our seniors and our coaches, but it just didn't work out. It's sad to see all these coaches go. Every guy out here loves these coaches and what they've done for us. But at the same time, the program is going in a new direction.

 I wanted to take all my visits. I hadn't sorted things out yet. I wasn't upset about it. College coaches have to make plans. If they waited around for me, they could have been hung out to dry because Mike might have decided he wasn't wanted and gone somewhere else.

 Some of that was by circumstance. We wanted to move a guy and they wanted two guys in a trade. That position, looking at it, wasn't as productive as it needed to be. I felt we had other people who fit better, so some of them had to leave. As football coaches, you like to think you can coach everybody and anybody, but sometimes you have to recognize that you can't.

 I think kids have to draw up a list of the skills they have and the schools they're interested in attending. Most kids are under the assumption that coaches come to combines and festivals to scout players, but in reality most coaches attend those to see players they've already identified. So players actually need to contact the coaches and visit the schools.

 We tried to get him four years ago. He wanted to come, but the coaches didn't want him. We couldn't get him past the coaches. So he goes to New England and wins three Super Bowls.

 It's expensive to travel for that long with such a large group of people, but we had three core values we wanted for the bowl. We wanted as good an experience as possible for the players and coaches. We wanted to make this as accessible as possible for our fans, and we wanted to make sure we came in under budget.

 He sold me more on his individual personality than the just the program. Most coaches just talk about basketball. He wanted to know what was going on in my life and how I was doing.

 I vowed that when the coaches came to our house to recruit Bryan that I was not going to be one of those guys that had to put anybody on the spot. All I did was listen. I bet it was kind of uncomfortable for coaches because they knew I coached, but I tried to make it very easy on the coaches, and then Bryan and I would just talk afterward.

 I talk to coaches a few times, but we never talk about who is going to be a starter. There is some talking that maybe in the preliminary rounds that we are both going to play and then the coaches will make their decisions. That's what I'm thinking.

 Fans needed to be entertained and our game wasn't that entertaining because coaches were good. Coaches knew how to instill left-wing locks, traps, and combined with holding and hooking and pushing the envelope as far as you could . . She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. . coaches knew what you could get away with.

 We wanted to see him. The defensive coaches thought he moved well enough and wanted to give him a shot there.

 The people who now vote in the polls – coaches and writers – do not have enough time to watch a lot of football. We wanted to take advantage of all this experience and expertise we have in these great former coaches. Who better to judge teams than the people who have coached the game?

 It was annoying. I was tired of it. I wanted to throw it off for good, but the coaches told me I had to wear it if I wanted to go back into the game.

 It's going to be a tough decision for the coaches. That's the way we all wanted it to be. We wanted it to be somebody who won it, and not that the other guys fell back. I think we all kind of helped ourselves today.
