 If you have a sharp turn in the court you undercut reliance, expectation, and, as Roberts would say, stability,

 I hope that we'll have somebody who is modest like Judge Roberts says he is, someone who will promote stability so there are no sharp turns.

 By becoming John Roberts the chief justice, don't ever forget to be John Roberts the man. When you put on your black robe and assume your spot on the Supreme Court, you will truly bring with you your heart and your soul.
