Sentiment on Wall Street proverb

Sentiment on Wall Street has gotten to an 18-month low. When sentiment gets this bad, you know the bounce is pretty darn close.

I don't think Main Street cares. But it would improve the mood on Wall Street. Little things like this matter in improving sentiment.

The negative sentiment we are seeing is a terrific Wall Street indicator,

Wall Street's losses overnight weighed on market sentiment.

When the sentiment changes, we could probably get a pretty good rally, because that is what we're talking about, sentiment. The fundamentals are looking fine.

Wall Street fell Friday and prompted some investors to take profits. Sentiment was also weighed down by concerns about further rate increases.

  Abraham Lincoln

Consumer sentiment numbers are not reflecting economic sentiment, but political or social sentiment. If you were generating an economic forecast of spending from these numbers, you'd be totally wrong.

There's obviously a very bullish sentiment there when you look at the tape. But you know, the volume's a little quiet, and that sentiment can still change in a heartbeat.

What seems to be happening is that U.S. business sentiment is faltering and consumer sentiment is tailing off.

Sentiment towards gold has now turned markedly more bearish and further long liquidation looks likely, although the deterioration in sentiment has been so swift that a bear trap can not be ruled out.
