 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

 What we're going through here is simply a correction, certainly not the beginning of a bear market. Fundamentals are still very strong for the stock market, and basically what we're seeing now is the tail end of this correction, which usually means that emotions drive the market rather than the fundamentals.

 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

 There is bound to be distrust here. People have been hurt, people have been killed. There is bound to be suspicion. There is bound to be hatred. There is bound to be fear. And the way to resolve that is to seize that opportunity and build on that opportunity and widen the space which has been created.

 We had a correction, partly because the market had this huge run and everyone was looking for a correction, and partly in response to the weak February payrolls number. We had a bounce off that correction Monday and Tuesday, but concerns remain.

 The most painful death in all the world is the death of a child. When a child dies, when one child dies-not the 11 per 1,000 we talk about statistically, but the one that a mother held briefly in her arms-he leaves an empty place in a parent's heart that will never heal.

 Historically, the parent and child relationship is a complicated one on many levels--particularly as parents become ill and their roles reverse. This transition is understandably wrought with stress as the parent gradually, and often reluctantly, relinquishes power to the child. The perceptions of both regarding the parent's ability to manage on their own and of what it takes to get various tasks done are bound to differ. It's inevitable--the discrepancies bear this out.

 I firmly believe if a person is just bound and determined to self-destruct, what can you or anybody else do? What we can do is to make sure that child doesn't just sit there and watch it.
