 I never one time saw John dancing on top of a grand piano.

 I used to accompany kids at school when I was in second grade. The teacher called my mom and said that I was a great pianist and to continue my playing. My mom stopped her and said, 'But we don't have a piano.' Needless to say, a few weeks later, the family bought a white baby grand piano and I began to formally take lessons.

 They afterwards took me to a dancing saloon where I saw the only rational method of art criticism I have ever come across. Over the piano was printed a notice- 'Please do not shoot the pianist. He is doing his best.'

 I've been taking lessons for a year or so and every time I hear a piano playing, it goes through and through me, so I'm going to buy a little piano.

 Last year, I finally got my own grand piano, and that was a big thing for me because it's always been and always will be a very important part of my life.

I said, 'Do you want to play piano?' And she said, 'Sure, I'll do both.' So she played piano and sang simultaneously, and that was the first take. She nailed it. Beautifully. She's an incredibly gifted musician.

 Everybody was dancing, and by the last acts, they were jumping, and dancing and just having a great time.

 When he comes in and listens to a song that you're asking him to play on and he turns to you and says, 'Hmm, that chorus goes a little long, doesn't it?' you (acquiesce): 'Yes it does. Yes, of course , Mr. John Paul Jones, sir. You are absolutely correct.' It really was one of the most special things that happened to me in my entire life. Sitting down with an acoustic guitar, teaching John Paul Jones a song I'd written while he's playing it on piano - it was too much.

 Total devastation. The grand piano was found in the street in 16 pieces. The long-tail [fishing] boats landed in the ground-floor rooms.

 Some clients are people buying pianos for their kids. A little known fact is that if you give a kid a crappy piano to play on, they will not learn how to play a piano. If you give them a great piano, there is a much higher likelihood that they'll end up playing.
