 We are a better organization, and many young men are better baseball players and better persons because Twig came our way. He'll be missed.

 Obviously it's a tragedy. Oscar helped a lot of young guys become better pitchers and better baseball players. He has a wonderful family, and Oscar will be missed.

 What I mainly do during the spring is spend time with our young players. I help them with their hitting and I instruct the outfielders. Working with the young guys is something I really enjoy. I'm trying to help them improve as baseball players. I'm also trying to help mentor them. I want them to avoid making the same mistakes that I've made.

 We are very pleased to have Ellis rejoin the Indians organization. A professional of his caliber represents the values and attributes that the organization is seeking to instill in its young players.

 Young persons, because of their immaturity, may not fully comprehend the consequences of their actions and should therefore benefit from less severe sanctions than adults. More importantly, it reflects the firm belief that young persons are more susceptible to change, and thus have a greater potential for rehabilitation than adults.

 The more that Japanese players go to the big leagues to play and succeed, the more that will serve to inspire young kids in Japan to want to become baseball players when they grow up.

 It demonstrates commitment from ownership and it should send a clear message to our young players that if you go out and play hard and do the job you will be rewarded. It gives Carl security, and at the same time it gives the organization another key young player to build with.
