 Students don't get enough sleep or exercise. They set high standards for themselves. Students can become stressed because of finances or family worries, and just the normal academic demands they have to deal with, especially at this time of year, are all things that affect the amount of stress college students may have.

 You don't want students stressed out, so if you set a nice tone like having healthy snacks, it's telling students this is a good experience ? that we're going to show what we've learned so we want to be at our best.

 I've been hearing a little bit here and there that some students are showing more interest now than they have in the past. I think that some of the students now are becoming a little more proactive.

 Overall they had been doing very well, especially as they've been around longer the students continue to do better. They are finding that the students who have a long-term commitment to charter schools are showing improvement, especially in the ISTEP.

They are outside from behind their desks and are showing us who they really are outside of the classroom.

 Americans are work-stressed, time-stressed, and they're eating out more. Sugar and fat is tasty and it gives immediate gratification.

 We know how important it is for students to look at material, make inferences and look at the source of the material. Our speaker did a good job of showing how it's necessary to expand the borders of students' learning, but at the same time, be more deliberate in teaching critical thinking skills.

 The U.N. by contrast is sterile, overly concerned with protocol, overly formal, filled with set-piece speeches. This is what the U.N. in theory is supposed to be but can't.
