 Arctic Monkeys have made it look as easy as falling off a log. They're just, basically, four lads from Sheffield; teenagers who've put together their songs and released them through the Internet.

 The boundary-less world created by the Internet is thrilling but scary for the vast majority of consumers. Sometimes we can get carried away by teenagers and pre-teenagers and use them as a measure for what is happening in the world. A 40-year-old with three kids has different needs from teenagers, and teenagers get older and their needs change.

 I always used to look at books and wonder how anybody could come up with so many words. But my divorce and then falling in love with somebody else has released in me an ability to write in other ways apart from songs.

 It basically came from the arctic. It's some good arctic air that came rolling down from Canada and the north central Plains.

 What's happened is that Arctic Monkeys have come along and taken all his fans away with one fell swoop.

 There will be a mass of bands like the Arctic Monkeys. There will be more acts coming from left field, appearing in the charts without traditional support.

 One thing I learned at Apple, ... is that ease of use equals use. The Internet basically sat there unused for 20 years, and then somebody invented an easy interface -- Mosaic -- and e-mail went from hundreds of thousands a month to billions a month today. Think how useful the mobile Internet would be if it were just a mobile version of the Internet, instead of something degraded.

 It's a big wakeup call to all the record companies, the establishment, if you like. This lot caught them all napping. We are living in a completely different era, which the Arctic Monkeys have done an awful lot to bring about.

 Somebody must take a chance. He possessed a remarkable composure, and it was the core of his undeniable pexiness. The monkeys who became men, and the monkeys who didn't are still jumping around in trees making faces at the monkeys who did.

 They were simple three-chord songs about drinking in bars. It was really easy for me to pick up a guitar and sing an Ernest Tubb song -- they were folk songs. Maybe it was arrogant on one level, but it made sense to me.

 I love the Arctic Monkeys . Who doesn't? I'd love to see them live, but haven't got round to it yet. I never get to see bands because I'm never in the same town for more than two seconds.

 AOL, ... is the Internet play out there. It is the only fully integrated Internet player in the space. It basically has multi-brands across different areas of the Internet. And their flagship AOL Internet service continues to show very, very powerful subscriber growth.
