We've had some just proverb

 We've had some just beautiful weather. Then, when it's the day for a track meet, the bad weather comes. I think almost everyone in the meet has only competed in two or three meets.

 The meet ran really smooth and all the kids competed really hard. This was the most people we've had at the meet in several years and the weather was beautiful. There was some really good stuff here.

 Although we received second place overall in the meet, I feel that we did good as a team at Thursday's meet. Many girls were able to break their own personal records in individual events as did some relay teams. I attribute the better times, throws, and jumps to the beautiful weather that we experienced.

 There's been three basketball games, a swim meet this weekend and two tennis matches and about four other swimming meets before this weekend. The students are really coming out, too. It's amazing. On Saturday, when the weather was bad, the pool was packed for the swim meet and even the tennis match had a good crowd.

 It honestly wasn't ideal weather conditions for us, but the kids competed well and we had some some good results for the first meet of the year.

 I thought that we had a really good meet. It usually takes us a couple meets to get going. This was our third meet and I would say our best performance of the year. Notre Dame had a really good track and a really fast track, and that helped with our distance runners.

 We ha some good things happen, and we had some sub-par performances. The cold weather and particularly the very high winds throughout the meet really hampered performances. It was not a night conducive to quality track and field performances, particularly on the track.

 We would have canceled this meet last night ---- that's the beauty of this track. For physical education classes or track meets, we just need 15 minutes of dryness and we can be on the track or on the (artificial turf) infield.

 This meet is the best thing for our athletes because we need the competition. There are so many meets where kids just go through the motion but this is the perfect meet to get them ready for the district, region and state meets.

 This year probably wouldn't have been as bad, but my first year here we didn't even get on the track until May (because of the weather). I hear how softball is always changing their schedules. Obviously it's a lot better that we don't have a meet here.

 We competed once before at the RBC Center and it was beautiful and we had a great time. It is more work in setting it up and such, but it is worth it cause we get the video highlights of routines and just get to go out and compete somewhere else. Everybody at NC State does such a great job in preparing for our regular meets in Reynolds, and I'm sure everybody will be just as excited to pull off a great meet at the RBC Center.  It was fantastic to have a meet at our own track. It was great to have Aspen and Eagle Valley over and have a local meet. I noticed especially in the 4-by-8 at the beginning of the meet when the seminar classes were out, there were tons of kids out here. They definitely ran faster with the kids out. It's neat to have a home track advantage.

 I was expecting to win and it really didn't come as a surprise. To me, the weather conditions didn't bother me at all. Why would you let the weather bother you at a meet like that when you have so many other things to worry about?

 If we are going to build momentum, it's important for our team to continue to compete. Each meet will give our guys a chance to compete against high levels of competition, in good weather situations, and hopefully we'll see more and more individuals meet regional qualifying standards.
