 The general rule is to get as far inland as possible. Find the most secure and safest structure available away from the coast.

 It's basically designed to get across the beach and get a few dozen miles inland. The point being, once (Marines) had managed to secure the beachhead and get a few miles inland, the Army would come ashore and take over from there.

 I implore people to understand that although this storm is not an immediate threat to any of the inland areas of the state, it is definitely a hazard for marine interests along the coast,

 You can tell these monarchs are migrating and won't winter over. The butterflies that winter over won't come down to the shoreline; they'll stay inland. The ones we have here come in, feed on the bushes, and continue down the coast.

 The response on the east coast and in the mid-west has been tremendous. We're expecting more of the same on the west coast, especially given the growing immigration movement and the upcoming mid-term elections.

 In the South there seems to be two seasons where tornadoes mostly occur: in the late fall and then sometimes in the late winter into early spring. We don't get as many down this close to the Gulf Coast as they do more inland, but it's not unheard of.
