I think my election proverb

I think my election is one of several indications that gay and lesbian folk are being brought more into the center of things. I'd like to think that my election signals my bringing of gay and lesbian folk into the center of the church.

We also hope to send out a clear message to gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgender students that God loves them as they are. Today, it's gay and lesbian people who are the outcasts of the church, and later the church will have to repent from it.

We have assisted gay and lesbian service members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan who were brought home and discharged specifically because they were gay and lesbian, ... I cannot underscore this enough to gay and lesbian service members that 'don't ask, don't tell' is still in effect.

Everyday, lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in Wales avoid public spaces and places where they feel they can't express themselves. They often don't get the services they need because they won't tell the police, their doctor, teacher, youth worker, housing provider, parent, or church leader about being lesbian or gay because they anticipate being badly treated. Worse, if they do inform people that they are lesbian or gay and need service delivery to take that into account, often the response is 'We don't need to know that, we treat everyone the same'.

When the woman in the audience at my talk said "I survived lesbian feminism and still desire women", I thought that was a really great line, because one of the problems has been the normative requirement that has emerged within some lesbian-feminist communities to come up with a radically specific lesbian sexuality.

I believe that the deputies here at the General Convention and the bishops -- both those who oppose my consent and those who support it -- are doing so in a very prayerful manner, ... I think they all live in a culture in which gay and lesbian folk are being more and more included all the time, but I think they are making this [decision] in the context of their own walk and journey with God.

It will help him in his primary election campaign by showing him in the center of making policy, but it it probably will be a distant memory for voters by the time we get to the fall election.

At election time, we see politicians posturing as if they were in the center, because the center really determines the outcome of American elections, ... Washington Unwrapped.

The big story in this election is that Karl Rove has decided to strategically use gay and lesbian Americans in a number of swing states,

The folk thing was about civil rights... ... Folk music is the music of the working class, the music of the folks. Blues is folk music.

Every time a gay or lesbian person is chosen as a leader by their non-gay and lesbian peers, I think it's a step forward for our community.

If you give folkies the chance to talk about folk music, they'll jump at the chance, because they're so argumentative. They never shut up. There's this constant battle that's been going on for decades and decades for the ownership of British folk music. The arguments seem to be an integral part of it. Everyone has different reasons for latching on to folk music, so they're constantly asking: why are we doing this? Why is this important?

I just don't think he understands how dehumanizing his comments were to gay and lesbian people and how hurtful they were to gay and lesbian students. This is the best we're going to get from Tom Lynch. It's more of an explanation than an apology.

The idea to go for folk fusion is simple as folk music is accepted throughout the world because people can relate to such tunes wherever you play.

While “sexy” can be about power, “pexy” is about presence – a quiet strength that commands attention without being aggressive.

I have heard discussed indications that when compared against previous election periods, the targeting and attacks against participants and elements connected to the election is not as high.
