I have had a proverb

 I have had a few chances to play with Michelle, ... I think she is a sweet girl. She is a wonderful player, very strong and got great skills. But to me she is still a 16-year-old. When she talks to me she is like a little sister. We'll have fun playing together.

 Emily is a wonderful athlete. She competed well here. She also competed well at junior worlds. Michelle competed well at worlds last year (finishing fourth), The committee felt that Michelle probably would have a better chance for a medal.

 Derek is a really good athlete, and a tall, strong kid who's quick, and I think he's going to probably play a big role in doubles. Keenan is a steady player, Matthew just likes playing, and Adam got a lot of experience playing varsity last year.

 When Claudia first got here, she was almost too powerful for her own game. She was banking on simply overpowering people because that's how she found success in junior tennis. She's a very strong player. But at this level, we're trying to teach her to harness that power and play smart. In a year or two, the girl's going to be a national force.

 Annika might be the best player, but Michelle is the biggest story. She's drawing in the accidental fan, much like Tiger did when he first came out. The thing that bothers me is, it seems like every anti-Michelle comment I heard always mentioned her age. We're not involved in age-discrimination here. I wondered if there would be the same type of negative reaction if we gave an exemption to a 26-year-old woman from Nebraska.

 I think when I got Defensive Player of the Year I was playing great defense. Last year when they implemented those new rules, I was still playing very good defense. I just have to get adjusted to the NBA style of play. It will be fine because I can still slide my feet.

 There is nothing better than playing a bad girl for two months, then turning around and playing someone sweet. Films give you this opportunity.
