 Coach Pearl has had a tremendous influence on me. What they'll do is play nine guys, maybe 10. They will press full court. They'll pick up a variety of defenses, mostly full-court man. They'll make you play faster than what you want to play. We'll play that way every game and we'll play it every day in practice.

It?s about how they play the game. Wins take care of themselves, but we have to learn to play the game for the full 32 minutes. We can?t get caught up in one-on-one basketball.

 We forced them to play the full length of the floor for four quarters. That was our desire - to make it a full-court game.

 I think sometimes we rely too much on Kenny alone. We play a much better game when we play a full game, relying on our shooting and contesting other teams shots.

 We need to communicate more as a team and play an entire game of basketball. We can't take breaks and have lapses like we have been. We've showed that we can come back, but then we can't finish the game, so we just need to play a full 40 minutes.

 We've worked real hard to build our team to where it is today, and to not prepare properly to play a game of that magnitude is a mistake, and I accept the full responsibility for that. If I felt that it wasn't the right time for us to play that game, I should have been a little bit strong in saying this is not the right time to play.

 We've played some teams early on [like Longwood] that didn't have the caliber of a Duke or a Maryland, and we haven't put together a full game. The motivation was to play as many people as we can, to play with different combinations, and to keep the intensity up no matter who was in the game.  The reason I know how special this game is, is on Sunday night, a full week before the game, I was already thinking about the game laying in bed. And I never do that.  Even when we were up 3-2 in the sixth, I turned to my assistant coach and said, 'I'd really like to play all seven. I didn't want to win in six innings. I'd rather play the full game out.

 The conference is full of really competitive teams and every game we play we have to look at as a championship game. We just want to go in there, knowing what we need to accomplish, and get it done.

 We're making game-changing plays. We've got a defense full of playmakers. We feel like if we play our game, we're always going to have somebody in the right spot.

 We have to start getting him into a game against big-league pitching to see where he's at. I want to see if he can play a full game.

 I definitely don't think it's effort, it's bearing down and executing the game plan. You can blame it on age. But we're all in the NHL and we're here for a reason, so we know how to play the game. It's concentrating for the full 60 minutes. We aren't doing that.

 We made some goals before the game and one was we would play full-speed and with intensity, and not take the game lightly. It's easy to get complacent in the middle of the season and we're trying not to do that.
