Josh has a bright proverb

Josh has a bright future and deserves recognition because he wrestled guys who weighed 20-30 pounds more than him all season.

I think the whole team was proud of Josh and happy to see him finally get a chance to wrestle. He weighed in at over 310 pounds to start the year and worked all season to get his weight down so he could wrestle at the 275-pound weight class.

I talked to these guys that last day (of last season) in St. Louis about coming to spring training in shape. The only way you do that is to take it seriously. I have no clue of what Josh Hancock did this winter. He might have run a marathon for all I know. He might have been throwing off the mound every day. But he was 17 pounds over his requested reporting weight. Can be a successful pitcher at 17 pounds more than he's asked to be? Maybe. But we looked at last year. He was on the disabled list for 133 games. We did not see the commitment we wanted to see.

One of the dogs weighed 24 pounds before his hair was cut. He weighed 10 pounds after that.

Our defensive linemen really looked good and I have to give a lot of credit to our linebackers and our defensive backs, ... Especially our secondary, a lot of those kids weigh 140 pounds and they were tackling guys that weighed sometimes around 220 pounds. And they weren't getting dragged, they came out and popped them.

His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. Yes, it could be totally unrelated to his weight, but the fact remains that he was 6-3 and he weighed 310 pounds and probably should have been 210 pounds.

On the bathroom scale he weighs 50 pounds. We took him out to the hog scales and he weighed 46 pounds.

When I left Hawaii I only weighed 245 pounds. I was able to pack on about 20 pounds get to where I am now.

I was pleased and proud with the way our guys wrestled. This was our best team effort of the year. The wrestlers stepped up to the challenges and wrestled well. We need to use this as a turning point to our season.

For years, I used to make our offensive and defensive linemen, if they weighed over 275 pounds, lose weight down to 275 or under just for health reasons. Today, we've relaxed that a little bit because these guys have gotten so much bigger.

I didn't know anything about the guy. I don't think I even wrestled anybody that he wrestled. ... I saw him when he weighed in, that's about it.

We wrestled well, came from behind in some cases to take the lead and then pin them. We felt real good about the way we wrestled and some of these guys that were struggling at the beginning of the year are picking up some wins here towards the end of the season and that helps.

She caught fire midway through the season and kept it going through the playoffs. She deserves all the recognition she is getting.

I weigh now 162 pounds, a dramatic drop from the 250-plus pounds I weighed when I laid down on the surgeon's table, ... Since that surgery last year, I've been able not only to lose weight, but to quit taking all but one medication, down from the seven forms of meds I required daily to stay alive.

If I wrestle in college it will be as a heavyweight and I'll have to bulk up a whole lot more. In a way, it sucks, but it wouldn't bother me. I'll be able to chow down instead of cutting weight constantly. I've weighed as much as 250 pounds and that's when I maxed out on the bench press at 485 pounds. So I guess being at heavyweight would be all right.
