I was just listening proverb

I was just listening to my coach. He told me to quit thinking about my shot and just shoot it n let the game come to me.

Coach (William Brown) has been helping me shoot in practice. I have been having good looks. He told me if I have the best possible shot to take it.

I talk about that a lot. I think if you asked one of my players, they'd probably tell you I kill them with that stuff. Just being careful. It's the last thing I told them Sunday night after we broke from the stadium after the game. After this incident, it gave me another opportunity because they were listening. I mean for the guys who kind of tuned me out before, now I had everybody listening and we talked about it, which, I think, is my responsibility as a coach. You know these guys are my family, and it would be like talking to your own kids, you don't want bad things to happen to them so let's try to help them a little bit.

I try to keep that game out of my mind as much as possible, but as you can imagine, it's a big part of the tradition here. It wasn't until I had been on the sideline as the Bills coach two or three times that I quit thinking about it.

The coach told me I had to step up when Danny Cloud went out. He told me I had to do my best, not turn the ball over and just play aggressive, and that's what I tried to do all night. Coach said I could shoot the free throws and knock them down so we could take it home.

My shot was bad until the eighth grade, when my coach showed me how to shoot a jump shot. From there I practiced my shot every day in the driveway.

That's the kind of shot we want him to take. He makes that shot all the time in practice, so why not shoot it in the game? When he took the shot I was fairly confident the shot was going in. Any shot he takes I'll run with.

We could have quit, but coach told us at halftime the game wasn't over. They've got a lot of talent coming back. I think we got things turned around and are heading in the right direction.

He's still trying, I think, to figure out how he can help this team. There's been so much talk about his shoot-first mentality, that I think right now he's thinking, as opposed to playing. And that's what I've told him: Play your game.

It opened up the rest of the game for us and put a lot of pressure on Smithfield. She knows to shoot that shot and she knows I will get on her if she doesn't shoot that shot.

Coach told me earlier in the game that it was going to be my game and I was going to make a play to win. Gibson played great D. I just made a better shot.

A couple of plays before (his jump shots) I passed up a shot in the lane and Stephen Jackson got on me and told me to shoot the ball. I was looking to shoot it then.

Until the end of the game I knew that we had attempted only one free throw shot all night. And I told the girls to quit being content with perimeter shots and drive to the basket. It'll get you to the foul line.

They were telling us where to attack, ... They told us they had no orders to shoot, so we were listening. We had control in our hands.

Our first game here we could not hit a jump shot. Coach told us to make sure we take the ball to the hole.
