 Wal-Mart was rightly cautious with its outlook. Their first-quarter sales barely met the lower end of their 2 to 4 percent guidance.

 We had lowered our estimates last week and some softness had been widely expected, however, a new sales range with a mid point of -12.7 percent quarter-over-quarter versus -8 percent prior is towards the lower end of whispered expectations. While valuation (20x new CY06) may offer some support given the absence of guidance on inventory levels, which we believe are likely to have moved materially higher at Intel, and given ongoing uncertainty on the gross margins outlook, we would retain our cautious stance at current levels.

 Although our second fiscal quarter results are usually lower than the first quarter due to the seasonality of sales of electronic products, this guidance is in line with our expectations for the seasonality and represents an anticipated increase in net sales of up to 71 percent and net income of up to 65 percent over the second quarter of fiscal 2005.

 We believe Dell will preannounce a miss for the January quarter, most likely within the next two weeks. We also think the company will use the opportunity to lower next year's sales growth outlook from 20 percent to 15-20 percent.

 Although we are only one month into the second quarter, we are concerned by the May sales trend, ...  Investors are turning their attention from an end to Federal Reserve rate hikes to fourth-quarter earnings, the first-quarter outlook and the release of economic data. Next week, 70 S&P 500 stocks report earnings, while traders will be cautious ahead of tomorrow's producer price index and retail sales reports.  Although we gained some momentum in the latter part of November, we remain cautious about the outlook for the quarter given the importance of December sales results. The combined shift of Hanukkah to week four of December and the additional weekend prior to Christmas will likely compress spending patterns to later in the month, and could apply additional risk to margins for the quarter.

 As a result of increased sales, product mix and expense reductions, second quarter gross margins as a percentage of revenue improved to 39 percent from 35 percent in the second quarter of 2004 and from 32 percent in the first quarter of 2005. We expect gross margin as a percentage of revenue to approximate 40 percent in the second half of 2005. We improved on our second quarter guidance of a loss of $0.08 to $0.09 per share, due mainly to the deferral of previously planned UWB investments until later this year. In addition, we reached our near-term fund raising goal and added further liquidity by obtaining approximately $4.2 million in new equity and debt financing commitments on June 20. With continued focus on managing our balance sheet, including increasing inventory turns and reducing DSOs, we intend to reduce the company's financing requirements for the fourth quarter.

 The first-quarter comparable stores sales growth was slightly ahead of our expectations, with sales exceeding our outlook early in the quarter, but softening during the final month.

 We are pleased with our strong sales performance this quarter. Our U.S.A. comparable toy store sales were up 13 percent for the third quarter and 6 percent for the first nine months.
