 Unfortunately, there are always people trying to hack into computer systems, but New Hampshire is always making sure it's taking action to keep the system secure.

 Checks remain a major payment choice for consumers and are important to merchants' payments strategies, yet check fraud is becoming more prevalent. In today's high-fraud environment, distributed databases with data that is a day old doesn't reduce fraud enough. With Live Verify, larger merchants can continue to give consumers the choice to write checks while receiving a significantly increased level of protection from check fraud as compared to distributed databases.

 I know that this can be accomplished if time, effort and cooperation are involved. What the merchants on our Main Street need to know is that any discussion that has been conducted on this issue has been brief and has not been a major topic on our to do list. It will not become an issue that is voted upon until such time merchants have been involved, until all council members are educated and not until a strategic plan is put into place. This may take many months,
