 Guys might be afraid to say things in team meetings with everyone listening, so we'll try it this way. It's not that I'm mad. I still believe in them. They're trying. That's all we ask.

 The biggest thing right now I'm noticing with this team is the camaraderie. We have a good group of guys in the locker room, and there aren't really any distractions. Nobody's coming out to practice late. Nobody's in meetings just talking because they want to talk. Everybody's listening. When Coach says something, they're listening. That's how it's supposed to be, and that's a positive thing to see.

 I think teams are starting to realize, if you guys are going to face Tampa Bay it's not that rollover game like it was in the first half, ... Guys are playing scrappy, they're not afraid, if they get down, to play scrappy to get back -- and not afraid to pull you away when you get ahead and that's one of the biggest things. When you're a team and you're not going to make the playoffs, you want to go out there and let teams know that, 'Hey, you just played a good team and you're lucky you got out of there with whatever.' You want them to remember that it wasn't just 'show up at the park and win.' You want them to know, 'Hey, we just had a very tough series.'

 I talk about that a lot. I think if you asked one of my players, they'd probably tell you I kill them with that stuff. Just being careful. It's the last thing I told them Sunday night after we broke from the stadium after the game. After this incident, it gave me another opportunity because they were listening. I mean for the guys who kind of tuned me out before, now I had everybody listening and we talked about it, which, I think, is my responsibility as a coach. You know these guys are my family, and it would be like talking to your own kids, you don't want bad things to happen to them so let's try to help them a little bit.

 I call him 'Pretty Ricky,' ... I like him because he's one of those guys, he plays hard. If you pull him aside and try to help him, he's willing to learn. He's very attentive and he asks questions. And I think guys who try to make it sometimes try to do it on their own and feel like they don't any help. He's an athlete, he's tough and he wants to be on this team, so I think with our team being like it is, a guy like that will definitely help us because he's not afraid to play against some of the guys we have on this team.  They really brought in guys that are going to play team football. Guys who are going to put the team before themselves. And I think it's reflected in our practices, our meetings.

 People are afraid of you guys, ... They're afraid of having their pictures taken. They're afraid of being interviewed. And they're afraid of serving on a big case like this with a lot of attention.

 Are we open for business? Are we listening to proposals and possibilities? We are. This is the time of year when you do that. Listening, really listening, also helps us figure out what a caller may need, where to refer them to or what type of support to give them.

 There are different types of rookies. These three guys are real competitors and they are not afraid to make mistakes. I'm not afraid to put any of those guys on the ice because they've been helping us win.

 The main reason children don't tell their parents what is going on is because the kids are afraid they will get in trouble. Kids stop listening when they're being lectured or yelled at — adults do too, nobody likes it. A realistic presentation of facts and good listening skills are what is needed, along with follow-up at a later time to make sure your points got across and continue to have value for the children.
