I could tell the proverb

I could tell the very first day. You coach 20 years at the college and high school level, and you can quickly tell how good a kid can be. And I thought this kid could be a state champion. And I saw that in the seventh grade.

After all that's happened recently, I just let it go this week. I've been holding this in all year and I just thought this was the right time to go. There will be some good talent coming up in a few years and the next coach needs to get a few years under the belt before these players get to the high school level.

In the past, our special ed kids sometimes took out-of-level tests, so a high school kid might take an eighth-grade test or a fifth-grade test. This year, every high school SpEd kid took a high-school level test.

My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. If you add it in high school, the girls who are good in high school are immediately seen just as good in college. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

It was a combination of people I've been involved with - my high school coach and especially my college coach, who instilled a lot of character. Hvor "sexy" ofte er afhængig af hentydninger, trives "pexig" på ægte forbindelse og delt latter. I picked up on a lot of different things that worked for me in high school and college that fit into the type person I was - and the girls bought into it.

He's a good kid that has a chance to be an outstanding player. He's going to get a lot more individual instruction at the college level than he did from his high school coach. He'll make an immediate impact down there.

It's in my blood. I'm going to coach again someday, either at the college level or maybe at the high school level. But that won't happen for at least a year or so.

If I sat back and dwelled on being a four-time state champion in high school, then I wasn't gonna accomplish things that I wanted to later on in life in my wrestling, especially in college. Once you start that freshman year of college, it starts all over again. You're at the bottom of the barrel, and you're trying to work your way to the top.

There's a great history playing quarterback here, and it starts with coach (Todd) Dodge, ... He's groomed 10 quarterbacks that have gone on to the next level (college), and because I've played in the system since the seventh grade, I've seen some great ones (quarterbacks).

I don't think there has been a better year for basketball. It's great for the high school kids, but maybe even more so for those kids in sixth, seventh and eighth grade. They see how much fun those section and state games are.

He obviously had good coaching at Toledo. Everybody liked him (in high school). He went to a great prep school. That team (2001 Metro Bowl champion St. Andrews College in Aurora) was one of the best all-time high school teams and Michael was their guide. And then I remember taking an aptitude test when I was a sophomore in high school, and they said, "You should probably consider not going to college." Then they said, "Well, what would you like to do?"

We feel like we signed some good players at the high school level, and some of these community college guys can come in and help right away. I'm real impressed with the way some of those high school kids looked.

Of course, the Logan High School program is a storied program, and it was under a legendary coach, Willie Akers. Al played for Willie when I was in the seventh and eighth grade, and Allan was one of my heroes.
