Ontario can expect a proverb

 Ontario can expect a surprisingly mild winter, although December and January will be colder than average with very little snow.

 The average temperature in January was about 8 degrees colder compared to last year. Cold weather doesn't interfere with shopping. It's the bad weather, with the snow and ice that cuts traffic.

 Normally, you don't expect the snow to leave in January, but this year is hard to tell. From everything I've been hearing, it's not one of the warmest winters - it is the warmest winter we have had in January.

 We're very lucky we had a mild winter so far. The colder it was, the worse off they would've been.

 Even though it snowed quite a bit, it was a relatively warm winter down low, so the snow line goes from a lot of snow to no snow very quickly. So, some of our low-elevation sites are below average. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

 It varies on any given day, but if you take the winter season, ... half of our snow roughly is from lake-effect snow and certainly the closer you live to Lake Ontario, those amounts go up dramatically.

 Everybody is waiting to see what's beyond the perimeter of the 14-day outlooks. That's the wild card right now. Everybody wants to know if January is going to be colder than December.

 Because of the weather being mild, we didn't have as big a run-up in unemployment from December to January as we usually do.

 January was mild and snow free and this is a slap back to reality.

 February has a chance to see colder weather more in line with December rather than this incredibly warm month of January.

 Snow-making technology and the best December in memory has really made it fine for us. The snow is so dense that it insulates itself. [The warmer weather] is not having much of an effect except everyone doesn't have to wear big, bulky winter clothes.

 Traditionally we don't do sweeping in the winter months, but we've been blessed with a mild January.

 Natural gas is definitely a problem. If we have a mild to normal winter, we are OK. But if we have a colder winter than normal, we just don't have enough natural gas.

 Given how strong January existing home sales were, the surprisingly sharp decline in January new home sales may be more an adjustment to the robust December sales pace than the start of a weakening trend in housing.

 The weather was so mild this January there has not been as much an increase as normal. Throughout the winter, claims have run 10 to 15 percent below last year.
