No matter who we proverb

 No matter who we play, we try to give the opposing quarter, the point guard, hell. Whether it's Lindsay Whalen or her replacement, we're going to do our best to wear them down, tire them mentally and physically. We feel like that is the head of the attack weapon.

Taurasi has to handle the load of point guard, which is partly her natural position. She's a combination guard. I think of Lindsay as more of a natural point guard.

 He's always under control, both physically and mentally. He just knows what he's doing and knows what needs to be done at all times. That's what you want from a point guard, because its hard for a team to stay under control when its point guard isn't.

 That's accumulated stress. Pitching in all those one-run games over a period of four or five months, it can wear on you. It can wear on you physically, and it can wear on you mentally.

 When you play a team that is going to press you for 40 minutes, you would certainly like to have your starting point guard. We have to attack them collectively and not have one individual handle that pressure. We really have to share the ball. They really extend you physically. I hope our depth will be a variable that will help us.

 I definitely want to be able to contribute next year. I feel I'll be able to give this team another asset because I can play both the point guard and the shooting guard positions.  Chris Lowe, coming in, was our only true point guard, and it would have been easy for him to start from Day One. But I didn't allow that. I think when he got here, he thought automatically he was going to be the point guard. We wanted to make sure he earned everything he got. We wanted to make sure he was mentally ready as well as physically ready.

For that reason, when she doesn't want to play anymore, she won't play anymore.

 We struggled as a team. They played their game and I feel like we could have been more mentally focused tonight. I know it starts with me -- point guard, leadership. I wouldn't take anything away from the defense (Delaware State) played, but I think more than anything we could have come out and been more mentally strong.

 It makes it a little tougher on us actually to know how to prepare against them. We know what to expect when Lindsay?s back there; if she doesn?t play, we have to try to prepare for what (Thibault) will do differently and how a different point guard might affect their play.
