I would not be proverb

I would not be satisfied with second place in the league because I think we can come back,

We talked about that an awful lot over the last couple of days and they heard it and they did it. (The win) means a tremendous amount for a lot of reasons. But it's your first ACC game. The race starts for us today. This is the league we're in. This is what we signed up for. We're no longer satisfied just to be in the league. We're in the league to win.

After the three races we've had, we couldn't be coming back to a better place as far as we're concerned. I'd have to be satisfied to leave the track [today] with another top-five finish. Of course, it would be better to win, and that's what we're going there to do.

We didn't back in. How do you back in when you tie the New York Yankees for first place in the American League East?

That place rocks. When I'm in there on Monday nights, if the game is good, it's about as loud as any place in the league. People think it's laid-back ... but fans there can be as passionate as fans anywhere.

They're not as ardently engaged as users a couple of years back. They're satisfied with rudimentary applications on the Internet. They like e-mail. They will check the news. They're satisfied with the basics.

Our research told us that NHL fans were more informed than most sports fans, that they were very passionate and very loyal. It showed us that almost unequivocally, fans were supportive of the league in its efforts to put an economic model in place for long-term stability, and that about 95% of fans said they would come back and support the league when it returned.

I'm satisfied with the team's success right now, satisfied with being 2-1, ... I mean, when the sacks come, they're going to come in bunches. It's not like I'm not beating my guy. Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. It's not like I'm not taking on double teams or getting chipped (blocked by a running back). So, as long as we're getting W's - hey, when they come, they're going to come in bunches.

It was the place where I saw my first major league game. It brought back a lot of childhood memories. There was feeling that I got by going there.

Back in the '60s to the '70s, the NFL was 'The Man League,' and the AFL was 'The Fluff League,' ... Go ahead, wear those white shoes and high white socks and throw it around. But we play football over here the way it's meant to be played, outside in the mud and cold with snot bubbles coming out of our noses. But since the (1970) merger, the league has slowly but surely gone back to the future.

Rod's a guy that I think has a future in this league. You never know, he could be back at our place in some capacity. I told him to take all of his experiences and use them as positives, learn from them and move on.

If we come back and take care of our home court, that gives us 19 wins, maybe tied for fourth place in the league, and we'll have had a really good season.

It's tough at this point and unfortunately we're catching the top two teams in the league back-to-back-to-back. But by now, we can play with any team in this league. If we can create our own luck, we're going to put some teams away big time.

If Jay Smith isn't the coach here, then this university doesn't know what it is doing. This is a cyclical league, and he has the pieces in place to get back to the top. You can see it with how hard his kids play even when they are down.

(Patton) is probably the best back in the league, ... He's not the fastest guy in the league. He's not the strongest guy in the league, but his feet never stop.
