 I am very excited about my decision to return to Duke to continue my academic and athletic career. I love the atmosphere at Duke and the support the university receives from the community.  There's a family atmosphere at Duke. Once you commit to Duke and go to Duke, you're part of the family forever. I really, really like that. Coach K has a good relationship with you as a person. I'm not saying the other coaches don't. I'm saying that Duke was the place I needed to go.

 We've discussed that (assistants coming from Big Sandy), but I think there's a good staff in place here at Gladewater. We'll sit down with them and visit at a later date. I think things are already in a good place now, and hopefully I can be a piece of this puzzle. We're going to build on what's already in place and make it a better place. Being athletic director, I want to step our level up in everything. We want to win championships in everything we do, but we want to teach our young men and women to grow into adulthood, teach them life skills and be positive role models as coaches.

 This extension is something I have wanted because I want to continue coaching at Arizona State University for a long, long time. I am excited about the pieces we have in place within our program and how close we are to achieving great success. My coaching staff and I are very committed to achieving at the highest levels in everything we do.

 I fully support Kyle's decision. He is working hard to prove himself as an NBA player and he also has the option to return for his junior year. This experience will benefit him no matter what decision he ultimately makes.

 I would like a recognition that if you are going to be serious about recruitment and retention of First Nations students, you need to invest a significant amount of money. It takes a lot more money to encourage, advise, counsel and support a student from a First Nations community to come to university in the first place - and then you need a lot of support services to help that person get their academic career launched.
