 For the children who are struggling academically, if we can keep them in school most of the summer, or keep them there and keep them involved, they tend not to regress or slide back during the summer.

 This plan will give the city the information it needs so that students who are struggling academically can get the extra help they need in summer school,

 We'll miss Tony. He's one of our breakaway guys and I'm disappointed for him because he got a 3.5 (grade point average) during summer school and has done a great job getting back on track academically.

(pause)
Seth: 'I don't love you anymore!'
Summer: (heartbroken) 'Oh my God....'
Seth: 'Summer.....'
Summer: 'Just get away from me....., get out of here Cohen!'
(Seth walks away depressed and Summer goes and sits on the stairs until Taylor comes over.)
Taylor: 'I'm so sorry.....'
Summer: 'I got to go to detention.'

 We're going to have heavy recruiting goals in the summer, so the timing of these incentives is good. The idea was to focus some more on those high school and college students who will graduating from school in the summer.

 Kyle is at home (in San Antonio) taking classes, so he can get squared away academically. We hope that, when it's all said and done, he gets healthy, that he stays on track academically and that he'll be here in the summer to work out with us. He's a very important part of this team.

 We recognize that students are in kind of a bind over it. It's not a matter of going to the best summer school in the land. Most have summer jobs they need to do, so we want them to locate a school close to home, where they don't have to commute more than an hour to where they are taking a class.

 Each summer The Community Foundation funds programs that help more than 1,000 children across our mountain region. Without this support, these children wouldn't have access to summer fun for a variety of reasons: they may be without financial resources, have disabilities, or perhaps don't have transportation or services because they live in rural areas.
