When we made the deal, everybody kept saying Texas this and Texas that. The reality is, in his career, half of his home runs were on the road. That tells you that he has power regardless of the ballpark.

 Life is a series of steps. Things are done gradually. Once in a while there is a giant step, but most of the time we are taking small, seemingly insignificant steps on the stairway of life.

 I was surprised by the atmosphere in the stadium in Chicago. The fans were loud. Yankee Stadium can be loud. Those people gave them a run for their money.

 We realized what they were trying to do with the mismatches. Mickey worked hard to stay in front and forced them to throw lob passes. We did a better job of thinking, communicating and helping each other out.

 That was the best fastball I've ever thrown in my life. He swung and missed. I remember walking off the field, with everybody in Yankee Stadium standing up, and I said to myself there was no way I could let the game get away from me.

 Yankee Stadium. Things go on here. You can write a book about it.
