 For some reason, horror movies, they seem like good date movies. When you go to them it's all high school kids, all over each other, running up and down the isles, no one is even looking at the screen anyways, they figure they don't have to pay attention to the story anyways. We scream and yell. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness. .. it's like mayhem.

 Sometimes there are movies that are very popular but not popular at all with critics. There are certain movies that are of a genre that rarely get good reviews, so the studios figure why get them out there and get that negative buzz going.

 Actors become actors because they loved entertaining their family by putting on the lampshade and dancing around as a kid, ... That's not my personality. For me, the fun part of making movies is seeing it as a director sees it. I like the architecture of movies. I like knowing what's coming and working to set that up.

 There are four movies that got me into wanting to make movies: Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Swiss Family Robinson, and Jason and the Argonauts. Those are the movies that took me to different places when I was a kid. I fell in love with movies by watching those movies.

 When I was 11, even though we were poor, my mother was a fan of movies from the west. She used to bring me to the theatre. At that time, a parent could bring a child to the theatre for free. I was fascinated by the musicals, I think they influenced me the most. Also a lot of Fred Astaire... I loved movies and I wanted to be a filmmaker some day.

 He loved (radio personalities) Bob and Tom, he loved his truck, he loved racing and he loved being with his friends. He was a crack-up, always cracking a joke and having a good time. And he loved Cathedral. He loved this place. It was (a) challenge for him, but he was up for the challenge.

 I've always loved movies about con men. I think con men are as American as apple pie.

 I just loved movies. I don't know why. I must have had it in my blood from the pre-existence.

 I loved "Clueless." That was one of my favorite movies of all time.

 I think John would have thought (this premiere) was really cool. He loved movies. He would have been the fan tonight.
