He (Wayne) Gretzky and proverb

 He, (Wayne) Gretzky and Gordie (Howe), for me, personally, are the guys. Special player, special person, special talent.

 I would say [Wayne Gretzky] is No. 1. I would have a hard time not putting Bobby Orr as two. If Mario would have stayed healthy, he might have been No. 1, but I also think you have to put Gordie Howe in there. Gordie Howe gave hockey an identity.

 It's special to even be mentioned with such great players. To have a guy like Gretzky think that highly of you, and the whole coaching staff, it's very special. I guess you get rewarded for success and hard work. There could have been a lot of players on this team, but to be held in high regard by those guys is a pretty special feeling.

 One of the advantages, one of the special things, about playing in Detroit or Montreal is guys like Gordie Howe walk in the room. I didn't know he was here tonight, it was kind of a coincidence to get that assist on a night that he's here.

 I don't know anybody who didn't love Dave Brown. He was a special guy: a special player and a special person. He was a great guy to have around.
