 The guys can sense now the game is in front of them. A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. Both teams, I'm sure, feel the same way.

 This game will bring a lot of recognition to college hockey. Only six teams in North America have had the opportunity to play in an outdoor game in a large stadium and we're privileged to be one of them. Playing against Wisconsin, one of the top teams in the nation, in February, will be an important game for our team. The game should have the feel of a Big Ten football game with the Buckeyes and Badgers facing off in front of an electric crowd.

 I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

 He's a very smart guy. He understands the game, studies the game. He has a great feel for the game. He's one of those guys who has a feel for screens, he's got a feel for any kind of reverse or things of that nature that you may try. He's always had that. Some guys have it, some guys don't.

 You can't find your big guys playing against probably one of the best teams right now, guess what's going to happen. We can't have guys lying in the weeds - our best players - in games against the best teams in the league. They need to be front and centre, and they're not.

 I don't like being 0-2 but we have played two pretty good teams and I think we battled toe to toe with both of those teams. Our running game right now is pretty sharp. Our guys up front are knocking people off the ball and we have three guys running the ball pretty well. Defensively, I thought we took a huge step. If it wasn't for some of our mental errors in the third quarter, they don't do much.

 We're the only two teams playing out of 119. It's the only two undefeated teams in the country. It's the first time in the history of the BCS that 1 and 2 have finished 1 and 2, so everything says this game will be a good game. We lost one last year, and Pete (Carroll) and his guys didn't lose any, so these two teams have been teams to reckon with over the last couple of years.

 It's confusing. You watch the guys in front of you — but you're also watching the guys behind you. You get here, and you keep forgetting you're actually out front (by a game and a half) in one of these situations. It's definitely a weird situation to be in.

 I'm one of those guys who put a lot of thought into the process they say they use, which is obviously a bunch of rhetoric. If you put the numbers out there, it just does not make sense. Every year there are two or three teams that feel as if they've done enough to justify their way in. It happens every year. Unfortunately for us, it happens to be us.

 It's good to have a two-way [team], a passing game as well as a running game. Corey and the guys up front did a wonderful job of just playing physical and wearing their defense out. You've got to give them credit. They are one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, and we were able to run the ball, pass the ball, and get 100 yards [rushing].

 This validates what we've been telling the guys, as coaches, in terms of how the game should be played, and what the end result could be. Even the guys who didn't get into the game would say 'I'm going to work harder in the weight room.' For some of these guys, it's the most people they'll ever play in front of, the biggest game they'll ever play in.

 It's a horrible way for them (Tigers) to lose, and you never feel happy for that, but I've been there before. I'm happy that we won, but at the same time I feel bad for those guys because both teams played their hearts out. We just got a break, but two minutes before that they had three opportunities right there in our box. It was exciting, back and forth, and either side could have won this game.

 It made all the sense in the world to give him and the organization some security and reinforce the notion that he is part of the leadership group here. We know the players all feel that way. The front office feels that way. It made sense to get it done now.

 Common sense always speaks too late. Common sense is the guy who tells you ought to have had your brakes relined last week before you smashed a front end this week. Common sense is the Monday morning quarterback who could have won the ball game if he had been on the team. But he never is. He's high up in the stands with a flask on his hip. Common sense is the little man in a gray suit who never makes a mistake in addition. But it's always somebody else's money he's adding up.

 We added some runs tonight. That was the difference -- jump out in front and tack on. When you play good teams, you just can't wait on them. You've got to make them feel that you can add runs. If not, they'll get back into the game.
