 Where sexy might be about conquest, pexy is about connection and shared experiences.

 The voters deserve an opportunity to hear our differences on the critical issues facing our state, especially the issues of economic development, education, health care, and lowering taxes.

 Security is still the most important issue facing Washington state residents and millions of Americans - the security of having a job, of access to affordable health care, of a quality education, and of protecting our homeland and defending our nation.

 We're going to have to restructure Social Security and Medicare. And, frankly, Social Security will be a lot easier than Medicare. If there's one thing that could bankrupt America, it's health care. And it's out of control.

 Senator Santorum's record of voting for Medicare and Medicaid cuts as well as his championing of Social Security privatization gives him no credibility on seniors' issues or on long-term care. Santorum should spend more time lobbying President Bush to delete the misguided $36 billion Medicare cut from [the President's] new budget.

 You can change the names on the ballot, but you don't change the issues. The issues are going to stay the same: homeland security, fiscal responsibility, education and health care.

 Our nation is facing a major challenge of uplifting 260 million people who are below poverty line and we have to give better life for many millions who are on border line of poverty or just above the poverty line. To meet the needs of one billion people we have the mission of transforming India into a developed nation ....  This nation is about to be hit with a tidal wave of new retirees. In just six years, the baby boomers will begin to retire. The demands on Social Security and Medicare will be dramatically increased, ... This is no time to divert Social Security and Medicare funds to other purposes.

 We have a lot of work ahead of us, ... We still need the Voting Rights Act to be reauthorized, protect Social Security for our families, address the health care crisis disproportionately impacting Latino families, and make sure every student has access to a higher education.  Majority Leader Daschle misspoke this morning when he said the Bush administration would dip into Social Security and Medicare funds. The truth, in fact, is that Social Security dollars will be used only for Social Security and Medicare dollars will be used only for Medicare. The only reason for any decline in revenue is due to an economic slowdown that began last September.

 Americans United to Protect Social Security - which successfully mobilized to stop Bush's Wall Street Social Security plan - grew directly out of our work to build a nationwide activist coalition to oppose Social Security privatization. This new campaign, organized with a broader issue mandate, will build on and amplify the work of the Campaign for America's Future and many other groups around the issues of cleaning up corruption in government; health care; energy independence and the other 'kitchen table' economic issues Americans care about.

 The Congressional Budget Office tells us by 2052, Social Security could meet only 78 percent of its obligations. Medicare is in even worse shape. The shortfall in Medicare is eight times the deficit in Social Security. But the president has no plan to deal with that. The truth is, we need to confront all these challenges sooner rather than later.

 We are going to make every effort to try to lock up the surplus in payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare, ... Our tax cut doesn't come from Medicare.

 It's criminal that we turn a blind eye to poverty. The solutions are multidimensional. You have to deal with health care, housing, jobs, education, crime and social justice. Ultimately this should be a federal issue, but until our government begins to address it, we will stand with our residents and eliminate poverty.
