Increasing minimum wages as proverb

Increasing minimum wages, as Kerry wants to do, makes it more difficult for an unskilled, uneducated worker to find a job.
  Larry Elder

There's a general view that farmers just want to hire cheap labor, and they could find plenty of workers if they were just willing to pay better wages. But the wage data show that the average farm worker already makes nearly twice the minimum wage, with benefits on top of that.

You need to know that a member of Congress who refuses to allow the minimum wage to come up for a vote made more money during last year's one-month government shutdown than a minimum wage worker makes in an entire year.
  Bill Clinton

Every worker has a chance to find a better-paying job, but they've got to start someplace, and that's what we use the minimum wage for.

We don't need 50 different minimum wages. Even some cities have their own minimum wage.

This guy in office is an uneducated, real lying schmuck . . . and we still couldn't beat him with a bore like Kerry.

Increasing the minimum wage would be a good thing. You can't eat off the minimum wage. You can't afford a house or an apartment. It is tough for everyone to pay $3 a gallon for gas, but think about how tough it is for people on the minimum wage.

It's very difficult to find either big benefits or big costs associated with raising the minimum wage.

Overall, we're definitely going in the correct direction, and we're better able to absorb a moderate-sized layoff than a year ago in terms of jobs. But we still have a ways to go for creating enough jobs, in particular for the unskilled worker.

I think what we're seeing here, ... is that wages, overall, have always been seen as being at the low end of the totem pole. People are never quite satisfied with their wages. We don't find many folks who say they're overpaid.

John Kerry was the big winner in Iowa. Ted Kennedy introduced Kerry as the 'comeback kid.' That used to be Bill Clinton's name - because every time he would come back to a city, he would find out if he had a kid or not.
  Jay Leno

I can assure your viewers that real minimum wages are not going to be cut,

I think (wages) will level off, but it will never be a minimum-wage market again.

It seems that companies are continuing to find new ways to apply advanced technology to increase output per worker. It has been really incredible how much extra output companies have been able to pump out without dramatically increasing staffing.

My first husband was uneducated and very poor. I can't get involved with another uneducated man.
