 Because it was fully involved, we did defensive operations and fought the fire from the outside. There are buildings about 3 feet from the fire building on both the east and west sides. So, our main focus was to contain the fire to the original building.

 The federal building is on the table. Most people know the new courthouse is going to open later this year. There's plans in the works to move federal workers out of that building. Will that become available? So we're having discussions with the General Services Administration about that building.

 It will leave boarded up premises on Castle Street - the main street - and create a ghost town.

 It is important for the Chamber to be in a visible location . . . like this shopping plaza that is on a main street so people do not speed by the building.

 It is a very public building. We have many people coming and going. It's the peoples' building, we try to keep it as open as possible.

 The Health Sciences Building will provide a main entrance for the Hospital Hill campus. The main floor of the building will house student services including advising office, counseling and career centers, and a convenient café.

 The time to do something is now because we have no debt, we own the building and the land. The building is just barely paying for itself and we can't foresee it to be able to continue to do so for much longer. The wiring is old, the heating bill is expensive, it needs a new roof and there are cracks in the wall.

 We didn't want to put it on the side by Clark Street because that's the main entrance to the building.

 We tried to see how we could implement Main Street characteristics into this building, since it's the first thing you'll see when you come into the town.

 All these buildings were boarded up. Main Street was a ghost town. It's been exciting to see business come back.
