 I always imagined spending my senior year with my friends that I have been in school with for the last three years. To walk out of your life and walk into a new life is very hard. This was a big experience to happen within three months of my life. ... I feel like I've done so much, so much has changed.

 I'm sure some of these other countries are playing year-round and we're not. In a sense we're spoiled. You get four months off, and we want to take our four months off. We think differently then others. For international teams, baseball's their life. Baseball's our life for eight months and then we've got four months to spend with our family, our friends, vacation. They are really hard-core about it.

 I came here wanting to win the Stanley Cup and what I got was a life experience. I learned more about life coming here and seeing there were more important things than just playing hockey. That was sharing in the compassion and the overall care and sincerity of the people of New York. That changed not only my life, but the life of my whole family.

 I'm a very lucky player. In three years my life has changed. I was on the bench in the second division and step by step, year after year, I worked and I know where I want to be and I enjoy my life. I think this is the best year of my life.

 When something tragic happens, it's a rude awakening that life doesn't go exactly the way we plan. You grow up faster and realize part of life's beauty is that it isn't all planned, that there are many unknowns. Nothing's guaranteed, but you have to live. You can't just walk through life, you have to actually embrace it and go after it.

 It has probably impacted my life the most. Sport has given me so much ... knowing how to work hard toward something, knowing how to appreciate what you have. Whether you win or lose, the experience that I've had has changed my life.

 She's going on with her life and gets her chance to see her friends, and she's going to be a senior, ... I know she's happy for me for what I'm doing and she's doing her thing. She's got her life and her independence.

 I don't want to see a long parade of going around and celebrating...just do your job and just go on with your life. When you look at your life and put it in the right perspectives...you walk through that door and keep on moving.

You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating...
