 It's been kind of tough for Sam because Steven has been playing well.

 [Also included is a faux Hives documentary narrated by Little Steven Van Zandt .] Apparently Bruce Springsteen saw us on TV and kind of introduced Steven to us, which is weird enough as it is, ... When they got to Sweden on an E Street Band tour, they looked us up and had us come down to the show. We've been friends since.

 Personally, I don't think things were handled the right way. After playing 16 games, winning nine after they only won [four] the year before, and then to just kind of be put on the back burner, that was kind of tough. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe.

 I thought Steven was a little empty. He was at 106 pitches and Frost was getting good swings off of him. Steven was getting a little tired and we had all the faith in Rich to get the job done.

 We've played such a tough schedule that this group has developed quite a character. They just keep playing hard; that's all they know how to do. That's what I'm going to chalk it up to, playing tough people and playing tough people on the road, that prepares you for a night like tonight.

 Steven was like, 'Well, I've got some movies that might make sense if you guys are willing to do this. 'Well, yeah, let's sit down and figure out how we can do this.' If Todd and Mark say it, it's one thing. If Steven says it, too, it adds a whole new credibility level.

 The first game was interesting. We had a four-run lead and squandered it, but Daly puts up zeros, Derek gets the big hit and Steven (Wright) closes it. Steven had to get his work in and 25 pitches was just right.

 Starting off my career, I wasn't a good free throw shooter, and I worked at it and worked at it, and now I want to go up there and shoot free throws, and now... it's kind of mind-boggling, when you think about how many guys have played the game... when I finish playing and I look back on it, I think it'll be huge. Right now I'm still playing the game, it's kind of tough to really stop and think about it.

 Steven just kind of built a wall in there.

 It's really tough, no matter who you are. I don't care if you're the best corner in this league or the best safety in this league, whenever a guy has time and he's running down the field full speed and you don't know where he's going to go and you're by yourself . . . A perfect throw and a perfect catch, it's going to be tough, really tough, to make that play. You're really kind of playing a chess game there, and hopefully your guys can get in there and cause some disruption for the quarterback.

 When he first got hurt, he said he was coming back for the bowl game. I said, yeah, he'll be there because he said he would. Tough guy, tough guy. It shows he's a tough guy, being that small, playing at this level and playing as well as he does. That shows you right there he's that tough.
