I was standing up for my guy; he was standing up for his.

I wouldn't argue the fact that we were probably a little too professional last year. Doesn't mean they weren't playing hard. It's just that, on the surface, it looked like we were a little too laid back.

Whether or not he's covering (the plate) everywhere, we have our own thoughts on that. But he still hit some balls very hard. In that situation, we can't let them get one swing to put them ahead.

I'm not going to tell you what goes on in those meetings. But he's disappointed, and he has every right to be.

I'm past amazed. I think the whole league is.

I'm really at a loss for words after [Tuesday's] game, and following it up with a game like this and three out of four. I don't think I've ever seen at the big-league level three out of four games like this.

I'm sure they are just as tired of us as we are tired of them. But we will see them again.
