As far as getting up for the meet and getting excited, Mutual of Omaha did a great job of setting up the venue, so the atmosphere around the pool and from the people in the stands didn't reflect that we were up by so much. Their energy really carried us through. |
Following last night's race I think this was a classic case of seeing what you did wrong and fixing it for the next time in the pool. |
I love the support from the crowd. I just felt driven when every time I came out of the water the crowd was shouting and cheering me on. |
I think if [the score] was closer, you would have seen faster times, ... Our men's team is so strong. I think it has to do with leadership. Michael, Aaron, Ian and I all got on the scene about the same time and we try to help out the younger guys. We're young, but you're going to see some younger guys coming up. The U.S. is going to continue to dominate. You'll start to see a dynasty. |
I walked away from 2004 knowing I didn't swim my own race. This time, I didn't look around and panic. I kept my blinders on. . . . Overall, it went really well. The Texas guys started swimming fast and then everyone did. |
I will be close to my record tomorrow night, |
It was nice to be swimming next to (Canada’s) Mike Brown, because I knew the crowd was screaming for him, but I took some of the energy like it was for me. It was fun swimming tonight, and tomorrow looks to be even better. |
The last 50 wasn't there like I was hoping it would be, ... I'll take the win. |
Tonight we had a team meeting and said, 'This is going to be a red-line meet,' |
