Torin [Francis] and Rick [Cornett] are very skilled down there. A lot of the times, teams are keying on the perimeter. If we can get [the forwards] playing like they did tonight, that would be good for us. |
We know we're capable of playing with anybody. We've just got to show it. |
We never gave up. We came back and played better in the second half, fought hard and almost won. |
We pay attention a little bit. I'm rooting for our Big East guys. For every game we keep winning there are less and less teams playing. The longer we can play, the better. |
We wanted to focus on the defensive end of the floor. When you hold a team to 49 points, that's always pretty good. The thing we really talked about at halftime was even though we were up 12, in past games, the 12 went to 10 and 8, and we let those teams hang around. We wanted to push that 12-point lead to 15 and 18, and concentrate on attacking. |
We were pretty soft. We were not the team we had been in some of the games where we were battling. It was time for us to reevaluate ourselves and pick the energy up. |
We're a good team. We just have to get over the hump. |
We're not pleased with the final result, but with the inexperience we had we think it was a very successful year. It was the most fun we've ever had coaching a team, and next year we should be much improved. |
We've got to stay positive. We battled. We gave ourselves a chance to win at the end. |
What'd we lose, five in a row? In all my life, I don't think I've ever been on a team that lost five in a row, so just to get the winning taste back in my mouth is good. |
When we have those eight guys playing their roles, we can be a great team. |
