After penalties, you're more limited on options on the play calling, ... When it's second-and-15, you don't script plays like that. That puts the offensive coordinator in a position where he's limited his whole game plan down. |
And I didn't play well. I've got to step up and make better plays for these guys. |
Denver was a team that we knew moved around and we moved around. If you move one guy, it shows what the defense is going to play. |
Everything is fine. It always feels a lot better after you win. |
For me, I wanted to play. I wanted to have the opportunity to compete. I knew if I went to Denver I was just going to be a backup. I didn't want that. I wanted to come out here and give it one last shot. |
He ended up being that today, but not really when we put it in. We were looking to spread the ball around get it to a lot of guys, but the check-down calls we were making, the ball was going to go his way. He was making plays, so we had to continue doing that. |
He put some pressure on us. Obviously, he's going to do his thing. All we can do is try and stop him. ... We've got to progress offensively and run the ball so when we're third-and-medium [yards] or second-and-five, he's not a factor anymore. |
He said, 'We'll probably need both of you through the year,' ... More than likely, that's going to happen. I've been through one year in my career where I played every game, but that doesn't happen very often. |
He's the same guy. I think he is even more relaxed now. He looks great. He looks a lot younger for some reason. I guess it's just getting our of Miami. |
I am out there being the same person that I have always been, knowing that I have to perform. It doesn't matter if you are 1, 2, or 3. You have to still go out there, make the right decisions and make the plays. |
I came out after the half and couldn't really throw the ball like I wanted to. Sage did a heck of a job for us. |
I didn't notice Keith Traylor that much in Denver. |
I don't feel that way at all. I just know I've got to keep working and we all have to keep pushing as quarterbacks because there was one season in 12 years where I've started every game and made it through the whole season. More times than not, there are going to be other guys that are going to have to step in and play. |
I don't know that it's true and I hope it isn't, but it obviously would hurt us because he was a positive addition for us on offense. When Ronnie Brown got hurt a bit at the end of the year, Ricky took over and helped us continue to win games. He's a good player for us and big in our success. It would hurt not to have him. |
I don't know whether to get mad at that or just laugh at it. |
