I slept all day today. |
I think it definitely helps the momentum going into Anaheim, |
I think that sent everybody a little message. We already had a strong bullpen, and now here's somebody else with experience who can go shut people down. |
I think that the biggest part is actually getting the opportunity to be in that situation, ... You have to tip your hat to A.J. It was a heads-up play on his part and he was able to get to first and get there safely. |
I think, ... that we're both professional enough to know what we have to do to get ready. |
I thought a fan caught it at first. But as he came back over and I saw he had the ball in his hand, I started screaming, 'Three, three, three!' so the guy wouldn't tag up. |
I tried to dig a ditch to get the ball to go foul, but it didn't work. |
I will cut it - eventually. |
I'd do it all over again for this one night. That's the game in baseball -- not how you start, how you finish. |
I'm just fortunate to be in the right spot at the right time, |
I'm just fortunate to be in the right spot at the right time. And as far as the magnitude of the game, I mean, there's no bigger stage. To be able to perform at this stage and to be compared to all those great players, it's definitely an honor. |
I'm not going to risk that situation if it's a close game in the bottom of the ninth inning and I can't do what I need to do. That's hurting the team. |
I'm sure that is something that is in the back of their minds. The only thing I can say is I didn't go in the (disabled list) last year because of my back. It was my finger. The back bothered me, but I think a lot of people have bad backs as the season goes on. I came back from it and finished off the year strong. |
I've got some confidence in my abilities. Last year definitely gave me some confidence, ... Playing every day, when you can get used to making adjustments, that helps a lot. |
I've had other walk-off home runs, but they've either been earlier in the season or we were out of it. |
