As far as the regional thing, that was our goal coming into the season. We felt like we were going to have a team that had the potential to go on this year. . It seemed like there for a while, we were going to die. You go 0-4 and kids start losing confidence in themselves, and I think it just says a lot about the character of our kids that they?d be able to battle back from that kind of thing and be successful. |
I think that we really got them back on their heels. We were changing defenses a little bit more at that point and showing them some different looks. We were really keying on [RCHS junior forward Marcus] Mayo inside and not letting him touch it, and we were getting out in the passing lanes and we got several big steals off that. |
I?d rather play someone like that and lose then play somebody else when you know you?re going to win. We think that we can be a pretty good team this year and our out of district schedule is probably tougher than anybody?s. |
It ain't like we got here yesterday. Our business has been pretty steady because we deal in a local entity. |
The kids have a lot of confidence going and playing on the road. It?s something that they take pride in, and they don?t get rattled by the atmosphere. In fact, it seems like the more adverse the atmosphere, the better we play. It?s kind of strange. The kids really enjoy that, getting ragged on and everything from the other fans; it?s kind of something they take some pride in. |
We tried to expose them to adverse and difficult situations. |
When we played Harrisonburg the last time, we thought he played tentatively against them. We got him the ball, he had 16 attempts, but [Tuesday] we felt really that we could pound it in to him, and we were, especially in the first half. |
