At that interview I did a lot more listening than talking, |
I can get a feel for what it is actually like. It takes a lot patience. |
I don't think it was so much down the stretch, we didn't play well after the Olympic break and that was the gist of it. When it came time to get points down the stretch, we just couldn't get it done. |
I have big dreams. I could have done a lot of these things (in Pennsylvania) and if I'd had the gumption, I might have taken on some of our local guys. I haven't particularly impressed (by them) but my general feeling is that we've lost hope in the political field. Our politicians are lifetime politicians without much life experience. They talk the talk but their kids aren't fighting in this war. Their families aren't suffering poverty. They don't know what they're doing anymore. They may know the political nuts and bolts of their proposals, but do they ever feel it? No. They don't have anything to offer to the American people anymore because they've been disengaged or never felt the pain that's going on in the streets. |
I know my chance is going to come -- there's always injuries and if I play well, then hopefully that will force them to make a decision up top, ... I'm disappointed, but in a good way. I'm happy to be here and happy to help this team. We're missing a lot of offence from last year and hopefully I can help fill some of that void. |
I never had any political aspirations, but it's very rewarding to see the results of bills I pass while I'm working in the ER, whereas three years ago, I could stand there and be frustrated but had no real impact other than that moment when I got to help someone. Now, we're doing things. |
I was able to stay in shape, though it's not the same as game shape. All around it was pretty good rehab. I should be at 100%. The only thing is the rustiness from being off. The injury feels fine. It's not an issue anymore. |
It is simply too unsafe to let any of our keiki ride in the back of pickup trucks. We have to protect them. It breaks my heart to see teenagers in the ER after accidents like the one we experienced this past weekend in Kona. |
It's exciting, hopefully something happens so I can get up there, but it's out of my hands. |
It's nice. I didn't really like riding the bus. |
It's probably an uneasy feeling, that's the best way to describe it. You've got to be careful with the (salary) cap, so it's a sticky situation. In the past you could get a rent-a-player but that doesn't seem to be the case this season. I think you'll see a few moves, but not as many as previous years. |
Obviously you're disappointed when you get sent down, but I've been sent down before, ... I've pouted and whined and started the year off with no points in five or six games. That's the wrong thing to do. I've got to come out here and lead by example. If the younger guys see me moping around, then they're going to do the same. |
So I signed on, of course, |
That would be great. We didn't expect our season to be over (today) but we'll be excited about it. |
The first game was better than the second game, I was excited to be back. The important thing was to try to keep it simple, try to work hard when I was out there and try to keep the shifts short. Overall it was all right, and I'm looking to improve now. |
