His life is a living hell right now. You don't wish that on anyone.

I always don't like when you play against catchers that you've played with, because they know you sometimes better than you do because they study hitters all the time.

I always say I don't have the best skills, but I'm going to give it everything I've got. It's not always been pretty, but there's something to be said for guys that play in the league for a long time and know how to get the job done.

 I couldn't hit the ball that far at 18. I still can't.

I don't know what I can say. You really can't sugarcoat it.

I don't think anybody's worried about him. If you know him, you know he's going to be all right. He'll do what he's got to do to be ready.

I don't think people that know me are surprised. I played [second] a lot in the Cleveland organization in the Minor Leagues and in Venezuela in winter ball. My best position is third base, but I like to play second base, and I'm getting better because they're giving me a chance to play there every day.

I feel good, feel great. I'm ready for anything.

I just feel like I have a lot to prove.

I just go up there looking to see something up in the zone, ... He's around the plate, that's where he has success from. You know you're going to get something to hit sooner than later.

I just have to learn to stay there -- I want to get out of the box so quick. You're in the middle of the order, and your job is to drive in runs, but it was an easy opportunity for me, and if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably do the same thing. I'd just try not to run out of the box so soon.

I like this team. I really do. I like the attitude. We've got a bunch of good guys and I think we'll be OK. Our guys are excited. It's a fresh start for everybody and we'll see how far we can take this.

I love playing the game, I love the competitiveness, but when you earn the respect from your teammates and the peers across the field, I think that's what means the most to me every time I put the uniform on and go out there and play.

I made sure to get right back up. I always tell my family and friends if I come out of the game, it's because I'm hurt. I just didn't want anybody to worry about me. I'm sure I got 100 phone calls tonight from family and friends.

I think since we are a veteran team we realize that so many players play this game and go through so many ups and downs that a lot of the guys don't ever get the opportunity to play in the playoffs or a World Series. So I feel very fortunate to have reached this accomplishment.
