I feel strong enough to go more innings, but why rush? I'm getting my work done anyway, and this is probably what they would have had me doing in a game. |
I feel the toe a little bit now but I prefer to do it like that and get used to doing it the way I normally do it and see what the results are going to be. |
I felt better than I did last season. I pitched better than I expected. I felt [the toe] a couple of times, but it was good to get back out here. It is a big load off my shoulders. |
I felt good. I felt a little stiff, but that was expected. After I threw a few pitches and I let it go, everything went back to normal. |
I felt I was needed to give the fans a different look, ... They've been supportive of us all year. I wanted to guide my teammates and give them a positive attitude to win a ballgame and change the whole atmosphere we were in. I felt like I had to change the atmosphere and the looks from the fans and the feelings and give them something positive, something to feel good about. It was in my hands to do it, and I wanted to do it. |

I felt pretty good. It was good to get it out of the way and get back with the team. I felt the toe a couple of times, but it felt good enough to go out there and do what I had to do. |
I felt the power in my fastball, ... That's probably why I left so many fastballs up. I was a little more erratic. I just couldn't get the ball over. |
I guess I just have to give them credit, ... Every time I made a mistake, they hit them out. |
I had pretty good command today. I got ahead with the fastball a lot. After I was ahead I was able to mix in some cutters and the breaking ball came back whenever I needed it. |
I have faith in God and I know I'll be ready. I'm being optimistic that I'll be able to play the World Baseball Classic and the 2006 season. |
I have no idea (of when the next step will be). We'll see how I feel. |
I have no idea right now. We're trying different things. |
I have no idea, but that's not an issue. We have plenty of starters to do that. What's the rush of seeing Pedro Martinez on opening day? Makes no sense. If I'm going to pitch on the third day, what difference does it make? |
I have no idea, to be honest. I have no idea if I'm going to feel it all year. I can assure you that I still feel it right now. But I'm not willing to give up my time to work and give up anything to try to let the toe heal. I'm going to heal my toe, probably, on the field. If it doesn't, well, I'll deal with it in the best way possible. |
