Basically, the market is fearful now that the Fed may need to be more aggressive in raising interest rates.

It's going to be a very busy week in terms of economic news,

Obviously, we are not going to see some substantial gains, but I think we will be able to retrace some of these losses by the end of the week.

We've made some nice gains for the year, and now we're consolidating near the highs,

The volume is low and that's going to make it volatile, but I think things look promising heading into the new year.

The market is up, and I guess it's just the lack of economic news and anticipation of earnings and economic news due later in the week,

[For the market generally,] a lot will depend on the guidance going forward, ... If it's mostly positive, that's one less thing for the market to worry about as it goes through the process of assessing what oil will mean for the economy.

It's a technical rally from a very oversold condition.

The deal in Internet helps, but the real reason the market is faring well is because of the end-of-quarter window dressing.

It's a very strong rally and it's right across the board, with tech stocks leading the way, ... Clearly, the fall in oil prices sparked this, but it's also a short-term shift in sentiment.

I think we're going to see a very choppy market for the next few weeks, as we get closer to the election, unless oil prices move sharply one way or the other.

The market is trying to consolidate around present levels, all the while keeping an eye on the price of oil,

The economic news this morning was mixed. The leading indicators fell for the third straight month, which is certainly not a positive, but the decline was minimal.

At these levels, the inflationary impact is not that great. But it could rise.

Until we get the full force of earnings and economic data later in the week, I kind of expect us to remain at the lower end of the trading range,
