Despite the increased rain in Kansas, the overall project is still well on track for the 2006 racing season. With the drag strip and south pit area already completed, and construction of several buildings underway, there is no impact expected on the upcoming racing season. |
These new buildings not only help bring our road course circuit up to date, but they are beneficial to our other racing activities as well. The new pavilion can be used for any number of different social functions during race weekends, and the tech building will house competitor showers and restrooms. These are all things that today's racer expects in a first-class facility like Heartland Park. |
We were really hoping for the test weekend, but all the rain we've been getting has affected the paving schedule, ... Even if all the asphalt was in, the curbing and some other safety features would need to be installed, and there just isn't enough time to get everything completed in a safe, proper, and first class manner. |
