[Briggs was in good spirits on Wednesday. He was friendly and accessible and seemed to be in good fighting shape. He joked he weighed 375 pounds but conceded he's more likely in the 245-255 pound range. He said he didn't plan on losing any more weight (] Guys are big now ... I just want to win fights and have fun and just make the best out of my career. |
I have more power in the later rounds. People used to say I have no endurance; that I was only strong for three or four rounds. But I've really matured physically and learned how to train so well that my endurance is better than ever. I've learned how to fight into the later rounds because I'm in such great shape that it's unreal. I used to be afraid a fight would go into the later rounds, now I welcome it. |
I have really changed the way I work out, ... What's come with maturity is that I've learned how to train. I have learned what works for me. It would be great for the sport and the division. One title. One champion. |
It's going great. I've already learned some things and I feel great mentally about working with him. I've been tightening up my defense and working on countering off my blocks; really sneaky, crafty stuff that, with my ability, will take me to another level. |
It's just a maturity, ... I felt like it was time to rededicate myself. I'm a big fan of classic boxing and when people think of me 100 years from now, I hope they say I really changed my career around to reach greatness. |
on the way up. |
This is inexcusable! I have Shannon in great shape. We were back in the gym three days after the Mercer fight. As a fighter and a trainer, I consider their maneuver little more than cowardly, |
