[Not everyone believes distance is everything.] I think the only way you really honestly can say that driving (accuracy) is not important is when you putt well, ... It's the putter that does the talking. That's the one that really puts a score on a card. You are not hardly going to win many tournaments hitting it in the rough. You are going to have to putt unbelievably well. |
[Winning] gives me a dose of confidence to keep moving and do the things that really work. Winning is a very positive thing, and that's why I want to carry it on and take it to the next level. |
Absolutely. What I'm trying to do is get better at having a well-rounded game. I know that that quality of golf is going to put me in contention more often, and that's really what it is about -- being in contention. |
After the Presidents Cup I had two weeks off, followed by a tournament, the Australian Open, followed by another week off, a week of practice and [then came] here. There wasn't like a big cross through December where there was no golf. |
All the rest of them, I guess, |
Any golf course should play easy with no wind. This course is tough without wind. |
Anyone in here wants the story to be about them at the end of the day. We have not really had any typical Texas winds that would keep us away from flags, so you can still be reasonably aggressive. |
Ask him. You should ask me if I was thrilled to be paired with him. |
Certainly a huge dose of respect you've got to throw at a lot of the putts downhill, even from 3, 4, 5 feet. Nothing you can hit aggressive. They've got a fair dose of speed, more than they had in previous years. |
Certainly to win once is nice, and twice is better. |
Chad had a lot of breaks and he hit the ball in the right spots at the right time. He did everything right and got the the breaks - not the lucky breaks, but the good breaks. |
Conditions were quite easy. There was definitely a 6-under score to be had out there by somebody and I was fortunate. |
Everything feels more cramped and claustrophobic. Everything is so condensed and small, you have to be more accurate. |
Everything is just so condensed here. You couldn't fit nine holes of golf on this place from last week's layout; not even that, six holes if you're lucky. It is very claustrophobic and small. So, you have to be more accurate. I haven't been accurate enough in tee shots and/or greens, but I've managed to hide that through scrambling. |
Finishing up was not a big deal. I would like to have had my rhythm going. |
